Rich
Does the second amendment cover the right to own pressure cookers?
splinky
check out what this huge douche bag had to say about boston. rep bell, i think maybe it's too soon
9lives
re ar 15..many of the law enforcement have them; or what appears to be. as to citizens like myself, NO..leave them in the hands of pros. I can't speculate as to the desire as to access to auto weapons but is has been suggested..bad idea.. eta..I live in a hi rise bulding with securty. If I lived in the directly affected areas of the city, I would prefer owning a handgun..which I am well trained to use responsibly.
Wilfrid
Does the second amendment cover the right to own pressure cookers? Covers aircraft carriers and ICBMs, as far as I can see, if it covers anything.
Wilfrid
Feel free to delete, but if we're talking about douchebags: Boston raises immigration questions
9lives
W, People want to create a larger issue here..Muslim, Illegal immigrants, whatever. As a resident..I just want to keep myself and family safe. Indifferent as to what the religion, creed, background, etc of the threat.
Sneakeater
ADMIN POST Let's all pull back, OK? No gun control, no pressure cooker control, no immigration reform.
Rail Paul
To add a little, proposed or existing "gun laws" would have had no impact on this tragedy. The weapons were NOT purcased at a "gun show;" nor were any weapons usedin the aftermath. DD was not delivering food today. Cosi was...which I passed on and had a nice charcuterie plate at home. Boston is what I imagine to be lke a "war zone." Sucks and I went to work without usual nylon backpack and kept my hands in plain sight. No grudge against any ethnic group...sick behavior doesn't discriminate or see color or race. It sucks right now but return to normal soon. Hope so. Thanks for the update
Sneakeater
ADMIN POST Actually, pressure cooker control would be on-topic and OK to discuss on MF.

Steve R.
eta..I live in a hi rise bulding with securty. If I lived in the directly affected areas of the city, I would prefer owning a handgun..which I am well trained to use responsibly. What about people who live on boats? Glad to see you posting & that you are well.

hollywood
Speaking of pressure cookers...... https://twitter.com/CBSNews/status/325376035979927552 looks like somebody blew it.
prasantrin
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the US issued a statement about the incident http://www.mzv.cz/washington/en/czech_u_s_relations/news/statement_of_the_ambassador_of_the_czech.html The highlight: As more information on the origin of the alleged perpetrators is coming to light, I am concerned to note in the social media a most unfortunate misunderstanding in this respect. The Czech Republic and Chechnya are two very different entities - the Czech Republic is a Central European country; Chechnya is a part of the Russian Federation. Sorry. It just reminded me of every single time someone replied, "Oh, you're from Taiwan," to me after I'd said, "I'm Thai," (of course, my statement was in reply to, "What are you?")
