$250 a month??

The porno stuff adds up quickly, especailly since they stopped providing free previews.

The no free previews thing is totally f'd up.

I have the twc super premium package with high speed Internet and telephone. The media piece is the most expensive part of the package.

The bundle explains the cost. The question is do you need the phone except for the net? If you don't then can you get the net elsewhere for a low enough price and TV from some other place for less or the same? Of course, you get to deal with more customer service people that way and they always blame your equipment for the problems.

actually part of the time warner scam is that the phone service is free. if i only got internet and tv from them it would cost the same as the package with all three. the bundle that i have also promises concierge level customer service which is actually pretty good. it's probably the lowest cost of anything they are providing since i'm pretty sure their customer service lines are manned by young orphans in south east asia who are chained to a phone bank

I thought there was a thread about this.   If I drop my cable subscription, I can find almost everything I need through Netflix, Hulu, etc. But I can't get live news programs. Roku has some news

Ask for the Festool 2200.

Never underestimate those foreign orphans. Charter has Americans somewhere in the Midwest who don't know anything other than telling you to do a ping test.

Well, in LA the porn stars all have to use condoms so that ups your cost, I'm sure.

All the medical claims from that condom use probably increase the costs even more.

(something about friction burn--my computer is acting up, but I think it was this article discussed it. )

I called FIOS to let them know I was considering dumping the TV + Internet + one landline phone bundle. They immediately offered an introductory deal ($89 + $300 credits for pay per view, etc) if I re-upped for two years. That's a pretty good reduction from about $140.

Thinking about it. I may ask them to throw in a high powered router...

Don't you, at that point, ask for the difference retroactively?

the antenna I'm talking about just picks up broadcast tv. I was telling Joe that the $50 ones will pick up more channels than the $20 ones, at least where I am.

I could probably buy a $500 one and still not receive a single broadcast channel. Unless I installed it on the roof of my building.
