E.L.A.
Had lunch at the Emerson Hotel...nothing new. Same menu, same people, same same. LOL. If you like their open-sliced steak sandwiches, well, they are the same too. Good service, nice crowd, and certainly better than the chain-type pub grub places. The thin-crust pizza seems to be popular, both at lunch and at night. Still seems to be a go-to spot for the area.
E.L.A.
Stopped at Libby's...same ol' same ol'...still a classic place. LOL. They had $2 draft beer and a $3 and change cheeseburger (get it any way you like it -- taylor ham, chilli/all the way, etc.). Also stopped at Rutt's Hut...'nuff said... I love Libby's, always nice to look at the falls and follow up with a dog or a burger. Speaking of burgers, Adam Weis and I headed to the dutch house the other night. Burger was the same as always imho.
ngatti
Grant Street Cafe for a better than average White Pizza (broccoli rabe, roasted garlic, ricotta and mozz). Defiant pumpkin beer amongst about 15 craft selections.

The last thing we need is to lose a burger joint -- one that offers a very good burger. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I very much like going to Bobby's or BuCu...I go there at least once a week. They are both within 5 minutes of my office, I like it so I go. But sometimes you want to go to a real "joint" -- have a very good burger, a beer, etc. Thanks.

I don't remember ever getting anything other than a cheeseburger (maybe taylor ham or bacon, or sauteed/grilled onions) and/or a dog (usually all the way)...and of course fries...with cheese and gravy!!! LOL.

E.L.A.
Going to be at Hobby's today... Come on...anyone else? Sear? The new steakhouse in Sparkill? I am holding off here, LOL. I also had dinner at Sakura Bana the other night...good sushi dinner. Went with a few friends and we felt a bit rushed -- and the place was not busy at all. It wasn't like we were a large party and they needed our table (there were 4 of us). However, some of the sushi also seemed a bit rushed, a tad sloppy, etc. As far as the quality, as always, everything fresh, not "fishy" and reliable. I've always had a good meal at SB. Still the go to place for many.
Rail Paul
Enjoy Hobby's, that's always fun. Extremely vintage operation. Both Hobby's and Bragman's contributed food to the recent WBGO membership drive. Not on my volunteer shift, unfortunately. I have to plan these things more carefully. I was told the sandwiches were superb.
E.L.A.
Speaking of "joints" -- I remember the Yankee Tower diner (Fairview), another "cliassic joint" IMO. Used to meet a friend there for lunch as it was half-way for us. And...who could ever forget the "double double" at Harry's Corner...a true classic. I am looking forward to Hobby's...always do. Last time I had a meeting at my lawyers office, they ordered in from Hobby's. It was a good "working lunch" so to speak, LOL.

It's on Grant Avenue (off Washington Ave) in Dumont. http://www.northjersey.com/food_dining/81084287_Where_the_chefs_meet_to_eat.html Only beer, mussels and pizza for me. But their beer list is pretty good. It's a crowded neighborhood hangout. It's comfortably friendly and good for watching a game.

I can stop in for a couple of good beers...after I am done eating at Fink's!!! LOL. I'd eat there when I am in the mood for beer, mussels, and pizza.

menton1
The last thing we need is to lose a burger joint -- one that offers a very good burger. Yeah, that would leave only about 20 burger joints in Bergen County alone... LOL. There's a new one opening every month, it seems. I noticed ANOTHER new place on 303 just South of the Mall-- Westchester Burger Co. Any word on this place?
