Dumpling of the Month Club?

Recommended Posts

Per a conversation offline, I'm proposing that we start a Dumpling of the Month club along the lines of our Burger of the Month outings. We may want to alternate the two depending on how busy we all are, but that's up to group consensus.

Here are a couple of possibilities to get us started.

FuMan Dumpling House

Revel

Dough Zone [albeit eastside]

Vostok Dumling House

other sugguestions? who's in :)

Wow, you guys were in my old 'hood. Of course back then, the best thing to eat at Crossroads was Shakey's Pizza. Sounds great, will have to try to get over there.

I'll check & let you know. we have a friend coming into town that weekend for a convention, so I'm not sure when we get to visit with him... [eta - and I may have to bow out for a little while a

I'm in (obvs.)

Other places:

Pings

Polish Home on Friday Nights

Pelmeni Tsar in Fremont

Din Tai Fung

Traditional Korean Beef Soup (homemade mandu)

I could go on forever, but that should get us started...

Locally, the DTF thing has gotten frantic. First, a second branch opened in Glendale (at an upscale mall--the Americana). Now an outpost has been opened at South Coast Plaza in the OC. Waits are said to be several hours. And people are waiting. People, you could drive to the SGV, eat at several terrific dumpling spots and return during the wait time. But apparently there is a small bar/lounge in the OC.

Luckily, here in Seattle & Bellevue the wait isn't usually more than an hour, way less if you time it right or sit in the bar...

OK clearly we have a community of dumpling lovers :)

Here are a couple of potential dates we could do our first dumpling outing (when is always harder than where with this crowd...)

September 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 or 16

Do any of those work for a quorum or should I look further out?

Also, just got word of a new(ish) dim sum place on the east side, Eastern Pearl, that I'd love to try at some point soon. It's Hakka, which is what the place on Aurora (now Tropicos Breeze) was, and I liked that place a lot.

If anyone's around the weekend of Sept 27, that's about my only weekend in town until late october...would love to get some dimsumming in...
