Robert Simonson lists six surviving dives:

 

Hank's

Lucy's

O'Hanlon's

Reynold's

Station Cafe

Woodside Inn

 

I haven't been to O'Hanlon's or Reynold's.

 

Simonson says they start early at Station Cafe. That would be why I had a bar-stool thrown over my head one morning, I guess.

And Subway. Can't forget Subway, where I used to hang out after lunch service, and where they thought I was my sous chef's mother.

I ended many a night that started in Raoul's there . There goes another last bit of the old slightly scruffy artists' Soho which of course has long been superseded by the Soho that is an open air version of a high end shopping mall.
