From the Bergen Record... So what are you looking forward to?
Rail Paul
I'll add the Fish in Ridgewood. I've enjoyed the Fish in Asbury Park from the same ownership team. The pictures on the website as the bank is converted are very impressive. ----------------------------------------- Ridgewood's Finca is reported to be open, but I haven't heard any reports

E.L.A.
I'm helping out at Orama this Saturday. Let you all know. That's cool. Good luck Nick -- let us know how it goes, what you think, etc. Thanks.
E.L.A.
Me personally, right off the bat -- yes, I am looking forward to Callahan's. Without question. Also, I am looking forward to Sophia -- steak, Italian, etc. -- and given there are so few places you can smoke, that is certainly part of the reason I am lookign forward to it. Latest I heard -- smoking is going to be "downstairs" only, not upstairs in the main (dining) room. They are building a bar downstairs, putting in a state of the air/filtration system and while it might be positioned as a "cigar" or "smoker's" lounge with a bar, there will be tables there for dining as well. I wonder about being "downstairs" and how that might play out for the filtration system, air, smoke, etc. I also heard there will be some "outdoor" patio/garden type space. So, all in all -- smoking, steak, etc. -- yes, I am looking forward to Sophia. But for now, I am in the mood for a hot dog...Callahan's!!!
Rail Paul
I(snip) ----------------------------------------- Ridgewood's Finca is reported to be open, but I haven't heard any reports Finca's is now reported to be shut. Host of building violations, unlawful doubling of the seating, kitchen and venting problems, blocked fire exits, all kinds of stuff. http://www.northjersey.com/news/ridgewood-shuts-finca-restaurant-for-fire-violations-1.1302662 Same owners as Cravings, across the tracks.
E.L.A.
Heard a buzz about that Paul...not sure what, if anything, is going to happen. Nice location -- I think -- end of town, near the parking lot, which is always full, not too far from other parking, etc.
joechartreuse
Probably not a great "Foodie" post, but the old and venerable Frontier Room site in Dumont is scheduled to re-open soon as Ryan's Public House. My first published info ( Read in a blog) on the ownership was that it is the former owners of Blend in Ridgewood, but have heard a conflicting opinion or two on that recently. Another brought up the family of the original Ryan's in Hackensack (Now Lenora's). Any update greatly appreciated. I was also wondering what the upshot was on Dinallo's. Still in process? I've been hearing about it...not the connection to Blend though... I haven't heard anything on Dinallo's...not since the Dinallo's thread and posts...other than the last time I went there to see what was going on, there was a notice on the door regarding an auction, with a phone # for some attorney (I believe). I don't remember if he was a bankruptcy or seizure trustee or what. So, no news that I can report. Sorry.
joechartreuse
Thanks for the Dinallo's info. Going to have to dig around on the new Ryan's....
