Yes, aesthetics: if you check out the interior, and indeed the website. It's striving to be nothing like East 6th Street or Curry Hill (and it's actually not unique in doing so). Look forward to trying it some time.

Very upscale.

I might pop by later this week. Thanks Liquid.

Yes, I've heard nothing but complaints about that since it opened.

i know you're joking but it's really kind of pathetic.

Sometimes a word just means what it means. Mongo seems to have detected a different kind of mess here: not that I think it's going to whack their bottom line.

?

i'm just noting that they've scrawled hindi text over their walls but didn't actually bother spelling the words correctly. i doubt it has much bearing on the quality of the food. i'm sure more of you would find this kind of thing pathetic/laughable if the language/cuisine combo was one you were more familiar with.

He and Orik are carrying over an argument from another thread.

Like I said, it's lazy.

Actually, I didn't know what Orik meant until I realized he was suggesting Faro was a pun on farro, whereas it seems to me to be simpler to take Faro to mean just what it means. Irrelevant to this discussion. I doubt if the potential to confuse faro with farro will whack that bottom line either.

No, I'm suggesting that when Babu Ji hire a PR agent and you ask them about the incorrect text, you'll be given an explanation and it won't be that they can't spell.

Yeah, but that's what PR's paid to do.

I also can't imagine more than a handful of people being upset over this, and not enough to avoid trying it out.

Now if the chef also has a lower back tattoo with the same misspelled text, then maybe I'd consider not eating here.

Quite possibly, but that would only be relevant to Faro if they hadn't named it for a lighthouse. The notion that it was meant to be called Farro comes from where? Sietsema?

Mongo's point is a good one. If an Italian restaurant misspelled lasagna on the wall you'd all be going nuts and say that Michael White is a fraud.
