Finally getting around to tagging the rest of the wines I transported in wooden cases when I moved (14 years ago  :o) that have been stacked in my cellar. Opened what I thought was just a crate of one of my favorite CA wines. Turned there was a very nice bonus of a couple of bottles each of Chateau Margaux and Petrus too  :)  :)

You know, the Bay Area isn't all that far from LV. ;)

It's funny, because I "knew" I had them. I looked through every bottle in the racks last year since I wanted to have one of them for one of those BIG birthdays. No sign of them. But every year I have a big party for some of the PGA Tour players and officials at my house during the tournament here. The rule is they can pick anything in the cellar as long as the bottle doesn't have a red sticker on the capsule. I decided someone must have opened them then and I just didn't see the bottles-there are a lot of bottles by the end of the night. But, obviously I outsmarted them (and myself) by putting the bottles in the wooden case to avoid that happening   :o  :P .

What does the red sticker on the capsule signify, other than don't open this bottle?!

So, does that mean I shouldn't expect any Margaux or Petrus in the mail?  :o

That's all it means. That way I can cook/interact with my guests, rather than spend my time in the cellar saying- "no, not that one"  ;) .

We hit no traffic driving back to Manhattan after a day at the beach (on LI). And I made it all the way up Madison Ave (63rd to 97th) without having to stop for a single light!! That hasn't happened in years - they changed the timing of the lights on the avenues some years ago due to vision zero but for some reason this week they re-adjusted it.

I was just given two fist-sized Istrian black truffles by the owner of a restaurant where we are at this point regulars. Apparently a friend of his brought a haul in but he won't be able to use them all in time. I'm invited to a tapas dinner on Saturday and now there's a surprise extra course.

I have them in a paper towels in a supposedly airtight container in the crisper but opening the fridge door still produces a funky whiff...

Aw I haven’t seen one in the States, many in our garden in England when I was a kid.

Chambo’s IPhone is once again accessing United’s WiFi for free

Goog Maps is a go too !

Chambo’s Got Data !!!

... but no MF pics download and, unlike last time*, when clicking a link that goes outside MF or G Maps to the httpS world, you are indeed redirected to buy WiFi access ... for the entire flight of 14hrs, it costs MORE than my full French service for an entire month !

Thieves 😡 !!!

But that’s a reason to be 😃 ... that I live in France 🇫🇷 !

So I’m NOT going to pony up for their ripoff WiFi for a few hours just to show them who’s boss ... and then I’ll buy it cuz they know and I know that they got me between a cloud and empty space ... those bastards

* Last flight, on a different aircraft and hence with a different WiFi provider, the link just dies and sits there ...
