Guest Adam
One of the Ph.D. students went away for the weekend to Berlin to propose to his girlfriend. He bought me back a bag of dried rosebuds as he had overheard me bitching about the general lack of decent rosebuds in the UK. Moroccan lemon and rosebud spices chicken coming right up. Check that they're not Citizen Kane rosebuds before you use them (these are generally imported from Somalia).
cabrales
Today's reasons to be happy: Of course, BLUE HILL AT STONE BARN coming up This is not a joke: I hear they raise certain special chicken on the property. Upcoming receipt of a gift from Mum of a watch I've wanted. The smell of almond, from Caswell-Masey liquid soap. I like equilibrated smells of almond. Dominus Vertical lined up, including the older (1983 as first) vintages which have beautiful artwork on their labels (depicting Christian Moreau?) but which might not represent a vineyard in its ideal condition
Orik
following a lovely picnic in central park chatted, nearly motionless, for hours while watching those legendary fit people running, cycling and otherwise producing sweat. walked back and stopped by the coffee shop at dag hammarskjold plaza where Tibetan demonstrators were eating hot dogs, mixing with youth from GSYD. A woman in an impressively red dress and equally impressive red boots was dancing on a segway to the tune of enthusiastically performed covers. The last notes of a butchered psycho killer from their party came through our windows about 20 minutes ago. quite fun.
Guest Adam
Became an uncle for the first time yesterday. Everybody doing well. Was slightly drunk by the time I spoke to the new mother and made possibly one of my more stupid comments. Over come by the emotion of it all when I was told that the baby had started suckling my words of genius were "Congratulations you are a mammal".

ngatti
Slept in (10:15). Bagel, coffee and the NY Times read at leisure in my car while munching. Then walked nine holes on a beautiful spring day. Shot my usual 60. A Two hour nap. A good Thai restaurant for dinner.
