Momofuku Ssam Bar is dunzo. 

i never felt that move to the seaport really worked. I barely ever saw people in there.

And now Ko. Momofuku going the way of Rite Aid. Or just refocusing all their effort into CPGs, maybe. That’s where the money is, I guess…

Well I must not know anything about retailing. Color me shocked that a store open a whole two to three days a week (when it wasn’t just randomly closed for the better part of a month to go on vacation or something) couldn’t survive.

I'll miss them, though. Their prices were often better than Best Produce or whatever it's called.

I have never forgotten a comment by an acclaimed British chef I heard maybe thirty years ago. "If I'd wanted to make money, I'd have opened a sandwich bar."

Well, there is also the little known fact that most of that stuff is available a few blocks away for a lot less money.

We have one out here. Its....not great.

Never been to Osteria Morini. However, we had lunch at Ristorante Morini on the UES several times. Excellent food, good service, and pleasing surroundings. It closed in 2019.

I went to Osteria Morini years ago. I walk past Marea quite a lot and it seems to be doing a good lunch business. (I don't walk past at night.)

I had one meal at Osteria Morini, a long ago Christmas eve. It was fine. I never felt the need to return.
