DanM
In a moment of poor judgement, I found myself with 3 lbs of split peas. What should I do with this "bounty" besides make way too much split pea soup? Thanks!
prasantrin
Can you use them in place of moong dal in Indian recipes?

Suzanne F
Assuming they're dried, they'll keep a long time. I wouldn't worry about their going bad so long as you keep them dry and covered. Toward the end, they may take longer to cook. But you'll have years of soup, sometimes vegan, sometimes vegetarian, or with different meats. ETA: Yeah, or use them in Indian recipes. Rail Paul
Grind them, and use them as an element in home made bread. Or, a thickener for sauces.

Rich
Stuffed Split Peas are great - just need a volunteer to stuff them. Very time consuming.
