Rail Paul
Tauscha's market, my local fish dealer, has freshly caught Pompano, so I bought two pieces. It was on a restaurant menu last week, so I knew it was around. Nice fillets, about a finger thick. $24 at retail, which is about four fillets. Oven cooked, with butter, pepper, old guacamole, and some coconut milk. Expected to run for a few weeks, then it vanishes.
Suzanne F
Sigh. One of very few things I miss about going to Florida.

mongo_jones
never had fresh pompano. we get it frozen, rather inexpensively, at asian markets here. it works very well in a number of indian preparations, being closer to pomfret than most fish available here.
