MitchW Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Made an interesting cocktail the other night: an ABC Cocktail, theoretically from Seattle's Zig Zag Cafe. I have it on a proprietary listing of cocktails, from a dearly departed NYC cocktail bar. In any event,... 2 oz. bourbon (for which I used Old Grand-Dad Bonded). .5 oz. Cointreau Couple dashes Ango. Stir, strain, garnish with lemon twist. Quite good. Another cocktail I'm wanting to try is the 1906 Martini. 2:1 gin to dry vermouth, orange bitters, and an orange Curacao rinse. Quote
Wilfrid Posted April 26 Posted April 26 This is that martini. I would say the Curacao wash doesn't do much, not explosive like an absinthe wash, but it's a nice drink. Quote
StephanieL Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 The King James: 1 oz. rum 1 oz. brandy 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth 1/4 oz. dry Curacao 2 dashes maraschino liqueur 2 dashes Angostura bitters Stir in a mixing glass with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange peel. Quote
