As a devoted user of datebooks (as opposed to smartphone calendars), I have become fully invested in the Hobonichi Techo cult.   The best datebook I've ever owned. Not even close.

full time servants until about 75 years ago?

And that time the cats went to Hebrew school and you got your rabies shot...

This is insane to me.. I know some people learn better or remember things more if they write them down.. But, really, I am a minimalist..   I don't want to have to carry something around all the time.. A phone is enough stuff for me.. So, I am going to write things in my phone, then transfer to an appointment book which, will sit at home or my office anyway..

You're just not on trend. You're supposed to be journaling between quantifying yourself and drinking soylent, I think.

Fortunately Sivan is an incredibly effective maker of list (of lists (of lists)) and our byzantine system of shared spreadsheets and domain specific language for scheduling, dependencies, packing, ordering, etc. allows us to do much more than a calendar would support.

May I ask, if you order your techo from Japan using the 1101.com site, how much does shipping end up being? I did an estimate on the fedex website, and it was about ¥20,000 which I felt was a little excessive.

EMS should be about $20

But if order through Rakuten, I won't get the exclusive not-scary bear spoon so I can always have a scoop full of hopes!

There are some things I really miss about Japan, but some I don't. Kowakunai kuma spuun? Not one of them. (Would make a really nice spoon for a salt cellar, though)

I can't live my life without this.

I've had one since 2018 and they've been invaluable. Foolishly thought I could do without in 2022 and...well...I have my 2023 and am loving it again
