Notre Dame

(Several years ago, an hour after plumbers left, a 4 story apartment building at our corner went up.

Husband, who is wont to take on every sort of project, keeps a thin panel of asbestos for just such close-to-wood blowtorch work.   Plus a heavy duty spray bottle of water close at hand.)

And a friend on the scene reports that an early morning walk revealed major stained glass windows intact, contrary to some news reports yesterday.

They should have finished the job during the revolution, but maybe now with the retail floor and the museum of religious pedophilia sponsored by LVMH and L'Oreal it'll be better.

It is heartbreaking to see a house of God in flames.

Have a great line for this, but the powers that be won't allow it - too bad. I'll just amuse myself and laugh alone.

Never knew that guy who is the French president  was a stand-up comic.

He said the cathedral would be re-built in five years. This is the French, the last thing they finished within five years was an omelette.

What about the photo, which was widely circulated yesterday, showing Jesus in the flames as the tower collapsed?
