hollywood
Congrats, Mongo, you win. Kawhi did a 4 year deal with your Clippers. Look for ticket prices to rise and Billy Crystal to be ever-present.
hollywood
Meanwhile, the Clippers snapped up Paul George and the Lakers got DeMarcus Cousins. The battle for LA could be fun to watch.

hollywood
Whoa! Westbrook to the Rockets for Paul. Hmmm.
Evelyn
I have been going to NBA Summer League games this week. And that rumor was pretty rampant. I honestly thought 'no way'. Obviously I was totally wrong.
hollywood
Westbrook owns a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep dealership in Van Nuys. Will he get one in Houston?
Steve R.
Ok, someone want to give me a brief explanation of why this is good for either team? I don’t see a down side, but can’t figure out why it’s an improvement either. Maybe just to shake things up a little for both guys and get them re-focused?
hollywood
Apparently Paul and Harden were not getting along and Paul asked that either he or Harden be traded.
Steve R.
That I get. But does management think that Harden’s gonna be better with Westbrook? Or does management on the other side think that Paul improves their team over the one they had with Westbrook? If not, why didn’t either or both of these teams go in a different direction than just switching players?
Rich
It's amazing how NBA players are allowed to pick and choose their own teammates in order to create super terms. Guess no one needs an NBA GM anymore - another job that has become obsolete.
hollywood
I think it works better for the Rockets because Westbrook is 30 and Paul is 34.
Anthony Bonner
Weirdly I disagree. With George leaving what ever window OKC thought they might have had was gone, so you needed to blow the whole thing up, and they managed to go all "processy" and have tons of picks in exchange for swapping 2 aging guards. Absent his injury issues, CPs game feels like something that has longer shelf life, and a slower decline, whereas Westbook is AI Mark2. He could go from all-NBA to out of the league in 2 years. Next year pretty sure it looks better for better for the rockets, but year 2 or 3 I think the trade is way more even. Also Harden + Westbrook could be an epoch making disaster. Steve R.
Both Harden & Westbrook are great at finding the open man or cutter and getting them the ball. But, in both cases, this only comes from them having the ball to begin with and being prevented from shooting or driving to the hoop themselves. This is not a good match & Westbrook is not what Harden needed to take the championship. As for the other part of the trade, Paul does not make the Thunder better. And his contract is for past performance not current ability. And all the draft choices won’t amount to anything, since none will probably be willing to stay in Oklahoma long enough to build a team with. I mean — if it didn’t work with Durant, Harden & Westbrook....
mongo_jones
the thunder will be trading/buying out paul post-haste.
hollywood
Well, he has his State Farm commercials to fall back on.
