I’ve still got the jacket I bought. I will post a photo at some point. Illustrates as well as anything how much weight I lost.

It would be nice if it also illustrated that you've calmed down in your color (or "colour" as you'd probably have it) choices.

What are some of the other ways?

And I've had this for nearly 63.

Serious question:   Isn't eating a whole orange better for you than drinking a glass of orange juice?  You get some fiber that way (as opposed to all sugar), which I would think is somewhat importan

If I write “math” you can hardly expect me to write “colour.” In this case it is a cool grey but it is not immediately to hand.

Yesterday was inadvertently an almost perfect keto day.

Not enough leftover potato for two breakfasts, so I fried up leftover cauliflower puree as a base for my fried eggs.

Carne asada burrito (lettuce, tomato, onion, salsa, sour cream, oaxacan cheese, jalapenos), but I ate mine off the tortilla with knife and fork.

Still stuffed from big lunch, dinner was a salad plate of romaine, tomato, mushrooms, cucumber and sliced pork chop.

A very satisfactory day's intake.

Tonight, fugetaboutit.

Mac and cheese with side of bok choy.

I agree with Voyager that the craving for carbs goes, although it certainly took more than a few weeks. I found I missed everything at first, but the specific cravings gradually fell away until fresh orange juice and potato chips were the only things I really wanted.

What does kick in fast is not being constantly hungry. That was a revelation.

So after following a pretty strict low-carb diet for the past 2 months - no bread, no pasta, no rice, no potatoes, except I did have some French fries once, I think, and the occasional cracker - I had an egg and cheese on a bialy for lunch today. It made me very logy for about 2 hours, and now I'm starving. This is very weird!

The craving for carbs never went away, though. I've got a freezer full of potatoes, bagels and homemade lasagna noodles, and it taunts me every day.

This is what happens if you stray. You crash, your blood sugar goes haywire and you are miserably hungry. Cheating on keto is not like cheating on a low carb diet. The latter, you just do penance and try harder; the former, your body hates you.

But two months in is early days. If you stick with it, I testify (Lord!) the cravings will become trivial. I speak from my own experience of course.

hubby and i are jumping on this bandwagon so that we can both lose weight (which will in turn help me with my pre-diabetes and prevent him from becoming diabetic). oh and there was that time i spent in the hospital a few years ago due to a stroke. let’s not repeat that again, shall we?

this is going to be difficult because carbs. right now i have an entire cupboard full of rice, rg beans and pasta taunting me. it’s sheer torture.

I get it.   Given a desert island, I would suitcase as much pasta as possible, then plan to die.   But I have dabbled with the Atkins version of this and it is totally doable.   Maybe a week or so of "I'd kill for spaghetti" tha. soon subsides.    If serious, I have no doubt you will each achieve your goals, THEN adjust to a balanced diet of reasonable portions    Great good luck

If quantities of unopened cupboard stuffs make it worth your and their time, just drop them off at St. Anthony or similar.   Cruise up and leave at reception desk.

Oh REALLY????????

ya rly

it’s cool, bro…i’m pretentious so none of you have to be

anyway, hubby bought some mint chocolate chip ice cream yesterday and i had 1/4 of that last night. great timing, right? 😬

i’m making a cup of chamomile tea. it’s no comparison obviously but the sweet aroma and warmth will hopefully take my mind off that thought.

If a sweet tooth is a challenge, there are countless keto desserts and sweet snacks now available. I get the advertised to me all the time as I've bought some keto products, but my taste is more for the savory. (Which reminds me, I've run out of keto donuts.)

Good luck with this.

we tossed the ice cream and fruit out

ty for the tip on keto sweets. that’s more of a challenge for hubby than myself though. he doesn’t have as much willpower. for instance, he scarfed an entire pint of ice cream two nights ago (whereas i had 1/4 of my container).

i’ll mention it to him
