Wine Tariffs

Recommended Posts

They're only on wines with less than 14% alcohol, and regulations allow for an error of up to 2.8%, so you can be sure the label printers are working overtime.

The new round would cover those over 14% as well; it also will impact cheeses and some specialty foods.

Latest round proposed would be 100% on ALL European wine, all countries, still and sparkling. Plus other liquor and specialty foods.

One of many links with some info (galloni has info on vinous, many others). Tonight is the deadline to send comments to USTR on one aspect of it (next week is second deadline). Not that they give a shit. I don't think you can overstate how devasting this would be to thousands of people and companies.
