Were The Goodies known in the States at all? They came out of the same Cambridge scene as the Pythons and had many crossover projects, but the TV show and records were much more family friendly.

Brooke-Taylor’s radio work was more interesting, but the concept of radio comedy shows recorded live and heard by a mass audience when broadcast seems prehistoric.

Do you mean the Goonies?

John Cleese has a lot to say about Tim Brooke-Taylor in his autobiography.

The Goodies. Brooke-Taylor was in The 1948 Show with Cleese, one of the two seminal pre-Python TV shows, along with Do Not Adjust Your Set, and they also co-starred in I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again, which must have been one of the last great traditional radio comedy shows, very influenced by The Goons.

the Goodies were shown here on public television and quite popular in certain nerdy sets. Tim's vests were awesome.
