I can't even think about undertaking this project - for starters, I have at least 6 of the old-style Rittenhouse bottles.   Shit - the bitters extend to the back of the cabinet!

My neighbors have been consistently impressed by the variety of cocktails that I'm drinking. It seems I'm developing quite the reputation. Thanks to you all.

Audrey really nailed that one, didn't she?

Try it next time substituting 1/2 of the Campari with an equal amount of Ancho Reyes.

This was a great suggestion for the Rosita.  Thanks.

Going to try my luck tonight with a Trader Vic's original, the Huapala.  Shake 3/4 ounce Bacardi light rum (I'm going with Cruzan aged white rum instead), 3/4 oz. London dry gin, 1/2 ounce lemon juice, and a dash of grenadine over ice, then strain.

Last night, cobbled together an approximation of Amor Y Amargo's (Chris Elford I think?) Sharpie Mustache.

3/4 oz Rittenhouse
3/4 oz Beefeater
3/4 oz Meletti (subbed 1/4 oz Montenegro+1/2 oz Averna)
3/4 oz Bonal
5 drops Bittermens Tiki bitters

Stirred with ice, strain into coupe, orange peel garnish.

Mmmmmm.

Last night I was so looking forward to mixing myself a cocktail using the new bottle of rye I had bought only to discover as I started assembling everything that we had actually RUN OUT OF ICE! What the hell? I was NOT very happy.

That is about the only advantage to having a refrigerator with a built-in ice maker.

Last night's tipple, as devised by Leo Robitschek:

Bohemia

1 1/2 oz Bols genever
1 oz blanc vermouth
1/2 oz Krogstad aquavit
1/4 oz maraschino

Stir over ice; strain; lemon peel garnish.

Reallllllly nice martini variation.

Strega Dacquiri

Pour 1 oz. each of white Rum and Strega, and 1/2 oz. each of orange and lemon juices, with 1/4 teaspoon of Orgeat, into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.  Shake.  Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  Garnish with a cocktail cherry.

This is good.  Real good.
