Sneakeater
So I just reached the end of my stash of Mexican limes (kind of like Key limes). Am I going to say this is it for my recent spate of habitual Caipirinhas, or am I going to buy another bag? I wonder.
Sneakeater
On the sugar-balancing-the-sour-citrus thing, this occurred to me: Lemonade -- the American non-carbonated kind -- is one of my very favorite things to drink. Straight lemon juice, not so much.
Sneakeater
Erin From Toby Checchini 2 oz. Rye 1/2 oz. Suze 1/2 oz. Bigalet China-China 1/2 oz. sweet Vermouth 5 dashes (about 2/3 teaspoon) (or about 1/10 oz.) Allspice/Pimento Dram ( @StephanieL can have homemade, but mine has to come out of a bottle!) Stir. Strain into double Old Fashioned glass over ice. Garnish with orange and lemon twists.
Sneakeater
I may not know where in my refrigerator all my Southeast Asian condiments are. But I know exactly where are my various Vermouths.
StephanieL
My best friend got me this instant cocktail kit for my birthday. Muddle the sugar cube with a little hot water until you get a syrup, add spirit, and stir over ice. I tried the Manhattan one a few days ago, and boy did it make a strong drink. I don't understand; don't you add the amount of booze you'd like? And who puts sugar in a Manhattan?

Sneakeater
2 oz. of Rye is definitely what I put into my Manhattans. It's a STRONG drink.
