I went to a local crafts fair today and scored 3 vintage coupe glasses for $9 total.  So we enjoyed a Twentieth Century in them in the backyard this afternoon. 1 1/2 oz. gin 3/4 oz. Lil

I need better supervision.

A cocktail worthy of having given its name to most important bar of our time, the Pegu Club: Pour 2 oz. Gin (Monkey 47!) and 3/4 oz. each of Curaçao and lime juice, with 1 dash each of Angostura

Got this recipe from the Punch website.  I made it half strength.

Al Sotack's Brainstorm

2 oz. Irish whiskey
1/2 oz. dry vermouth
1/2 oz. Benedictine

Combine all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass, then stir to chill.  Strain into a chilled coupe glass.  Express a lemon twist over the drink, then discard the peel.

After reading about the growing popularity of "ranch water", I decided to try it using one of the umpteen recipes out there.  It's basically a margarita highball.  The key ingredient is Topo Chico mineral water, which fortunately for me is easily obtainable at my local Grocery Outlet.  All of the other ingredients can be tinkered with.

Ranch Water
1 1/2 oz. blanco tequila
1 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. orange liqueur (I used Cointreau)
Topo Chico water

Mix the tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur together in a Collins or highball glass.  Add ice, then top up with Topo Chico.

1 oz. amontillado sherry
1/2 lemon juice
1-2 dashes Angostura bitters

Shake over ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

So are we really starting to see a significant throttling back of Chartreuse supply? (Or that Japan's demand is affecting global supply, as some sources say.) It seems so. Saw a tweet by Martin Doudoroff the other day that threw me into a panic. Found (and bought) two green and one yellow after scouring 4 local shops. Astor's website lists both as out of stock.

Interestingly, I had just seen this post yesterday...https://www.instagram.com/p/CpW-2xnOWjy/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

I posted a few weeks back (probably on this thread) that I had a problem finding any. Ended up with yellow rather than green, although I had really been looking for the latter.

Bijou, from my Nomad cocktail book. Guess who got a bottle of Chartreuse to keep the Luxardo company? From Bowery and Vine, if anyone's still having trouble finding it.

I wasn't crazy about it at first, but it grew on me. H lurved it.
