For sure. I think they are lacking quite a lot of things behind the scenes. I don't even know that they have management. Bad experiences: " they split with their management team, lost touring revenue due to lockdowns, and were without a label for the first time" (circa COVID).

Returning this thread to its foxy roots, may I ask when the grand re-opening might be? I returned today to my stint of sporadic NYC visits, after a summer of straining soup in Cambridge, and thinking on Amtrak of places to eat I naturally went Foxface. But there's zilch for the next three weeks. Should I worry?

It was in the early days of AT, when it was more of a design discussion forum than the sleek, product-oriented site it is today. The founder Maxwell Ryan was pushing small living as a style everybody should embrace. Some posters there pointed out that it was all very well for him to talk of living small when he had other residences (including one in the Hamptons) to escape to when his Manhattan place became claustrophobic. They were ejected. I objected to the ejection and was booted, too.

From AT today:

Eric Goldie and Jeremy Batoff split their time between this 700-square-foot apartment in New York and their farm in Maryland. "While we’re not here full-time, it still feels like home in all the ways that matter."

i was nominated for one of their Homie awards, so they can do no wrong in my eyes.

To add to the story of my booting from AT, one of the troublemakers who took objection to a philosophy that said "small is beautiful" (in Maxwell's case they claimed that he and his then-wife and their young daughter had a bedroom the size of their futon -- on the floor, of course -- with tiny cabinets built into the surrounding walls to store moisturizer and whatnot) while the philosophers were all the while actually living larger than most people can was a poster called

SteveR

My crime (among others) was that after he vanished from AT Maxwell's acolytes were arguing that there was no proof he had been banned. More likely, they argued, he was tired of posting, or possibly simply dead. So I set up a hotmail account, RUBanned, and asked him to write to me there. That post was swiftly deleted. Nevertheless, in a few hours I got a message that started "I am SteveR ...". I posted his message, and that was the end for me.

----

The first question I asked our SteveR when I started posting here was if he was that SteveR. He denied it, a little too vehemently I thought. I think somebody should keep an eye on him. He sounds like trouble.
