small h
Any opinions on Malibu/Santa Monica fish places, like Duke’s, Reel Inn, Neptune’s Net? Probably going to be in that area on Sunday.
bloviatrix
I'm pretty sure I've been to Duke's. But it was 2016 and I was disappointed by their fish tacos.

I think I was there last about 20 years ago, which sucks, because I like it and have a lot of friends there. We made it as far north as Neptune's Net. And then we drove back over the mountains. Neptune's Net was fun, but the food wasn't that good. Standard issue NE clam chowder, on the house because of a mix-up with our seafood sampler. Which consisted of shrimp, (frozen) mussels, oysters and snow crab.
voyager
Maybe someday. “While we’re young.” (We don’t eat snow crab up here.)
hollywood
Sorry, I didn't see this before. Malibu Seafood is the way to go if you don't mind casual. https://malibuseafood.com/

hollywood
Generally, a lot of the people are getting take-out and the line can move with some speed. But time marches on.
Maison Rustique
We used to love Neptune's Net, but haven't been in decades.

Sneakeater
SMALL H: Waiter, do you serve crabs? WAITER: [bites tongue]
small h
I see the borscht belt is strong in you today.
Sneakeater
SMALL H: Waiter, taste my crab chowder. WAITER: What's wrong? Is it not warm enough? SMALL H: Taste my crab chowder. WAITER: Does it need more salt? We can add more salt. SMALL H: Taste my crab chowder. WAITER: Is there not enough crab in it? SMALL H: Taste my crab chowder. WAITER: I can't taste your crab chowder. You don't have a spoon. SMALL H: Ah-HA!
StephanieL
Trust me, Borscht Belt humor and Yiddishims are completely lost around here, unless you're with NY expats.
