Improve your knowledge of wine as well as your ability to taste and describe wine. Sommelier Arnie Millan's Introduction to Wine Classes begin Sunday January 10, 2010 until February 21st. These fun, informal classes were featured in the Wall Street Journal and each class includes useful handouts.

 

The weekly wine classes wil begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at 10 Highland Drive on upper Queen Anne in Seattle.

 

A series of six classes, including wine tastings of 6-8 wines during each class, will be offered for $39 per class or $215 for all 6 classes per person. Gift certificates are available making it a perfect holiday present for any wine lover. Advance registration is required.

 

Topics covered will be:

 

January 10th - Wine Term Glossary, Grapes, Basics of Viticulture and Winemaking

January 17th - Spain

January 24th - Italy

January 31st - France

February 14th - New World Wines

February 21st - Wine/Food pairing, Germany

Bastille's Market Dinner Series Kicks Off Monday, May 10th

Please join us for a special evening of great food from the Ballard Farmer's Market on Monday, May 10th. Shannon and Jason will prepare various courses from goods brought to us from the amazing farmers, foragers and fishermen who show up outside of our front doors every Sunday!

 

We'd love to show you the menu, but Shannon and Jason need to shop the Market first! Needless to say, you can expect super-fresh produce from nearby and inventive preparations from the kitchen. James will contribute a coupla delicious, affordable wines available by the carafe.

 

This is the way we Bastillians like to eat: great product prepared with care (but without pretense) with quaffable wine served at a table of friends and neighbors.

 

This kicks off our monthly series of Market Dinners, which we'll hold on the second Monday of every month.

 

$45 per person (plus tax and gratuity)

3 courses: appetizer, entrée, cheese

We’ll make 3 wines from our bottle list available by the carafe for $20
