Beatcha, Anita!   Let'd Do This!   Jason

Apparently on the other board, this topic has "run its course..."   Uh, yeah....

Gotta agree with Cam...It WAS expensive. Anita got the Stadium burger. Yup. 'twas big.   Yup. Did the Wagyu upgrade.   Yup. Was about as expensive as the Burger at the Palace Kitchen .   Yee

Since nobody has mentioned the results of our outing, I thought I'd do a little summary.

If you look under the Luc thread, you can see I had already had a disappointing run-in with the Luc burger. While I thought the rest of this meal was at the same 'meh' level as my previous meal, I am please to report that the burger had improved greatly.

A new bun was light enough to not get in the way, but didn't fall apart, despite the (still) heavy hand with the condiments. The good news is the condiments are tasty, there is just still too much of them. You could actually taste the meat now, though, and it was very good. Our burger, at least, was perfectly cooked to the temp we asked (which was rare, so it isn't usually).

That said...service was still....strange? Not necessarily bad, just definitely not good. Most of the apps seemed good, though my butternut squash soup was overly sweet and had no other flavors (salting it at the table helped a fair amount).

They really need a new fry strategy though.

My take-away? I'm still not overly excited about the place, but if I were to be back for whatever reason, I'm definitely sticking with the burger.

Paul and I split a burger and the burger itself was very good. I like the way the formed it - it was not over pressed and had a nice, soft texture after cooking. It was exactly medium rare - as ordered. It doesn't come with an option for a cheeseburger however, when asked, our server said they could add some. I removed the caramelized onions so that might be why I didn't notice a heavy hand with the condiments. The bun was good but the bottom was a bit tough and I had a hard time cutting through it. Paul and I also split a butter lettuce salad which was perfectly dressed and seasoned. Everything else we tried needed quite a bit of salt.

The potato crisps have been modified since our first visit and I think they are better now. They are smaller and there are more to an order. Plus they are served in a napkin which seemed to keep them warmer for longer.

The service is a bit clunky and despite being very specific about wanting a lemon (as opposed to an orange) twist in my martini despite the fact that I asked for a dash of orange bitters, I still received an orange twist. Why does this happen?

Oops, I was tagged for November and completely forgot about it. December is crazy but we need to eat, right? And I was going to choose Lecosho! My open dates in December are: 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, 30. How about the rest of you?

I was just about to ask if anyone had been to the 5 guys yet! Sad that it was not worthy, though I'm excited for Lecosho.

I possibly would be able to do: 14, 20, 21, 22, 29, 30. Some of these dates may get booked over the next week.

My preference would be for Monday the 20th, though! Because I think that's my safest option. :)

Monday the 20th is a good day for me too....and so far for everyone else I think. How about we choose that?

After all that... Lecosho only serves the burger at lunch. I called to ask if they would make an exception for our group and they said no. I figure we have two options. We can:

1 - Find a day that lunch works and meet then or

2 - Stick with the 20th and go someplace else

I'm okay with either one. What do you think?

I'd be happy to do a lunch instead because I have a very flexible schedule, but there is something to be said for working with the date we have, given how hard it usually is to find a mutually functional date in December...
