Jimmy Buffett

When I was in college, I was the GM of the University radio station. The University allowed us to have him for the Homecoming concert. And I got to give him his check. He was sooo charismatic and nice. He will always be one of my favorite celebrities I've interacted with.

My roommate one upped me by seeing his limo at the Krystal (Southern burger chain known for late night square burgers that are really good if you've had too much alcohol. Or have the muchies). And they communed over "herbs" and Krystal burgers. To this day I wish I'd gone with her to Krystal that night.

When I saw Buffett back in the 70s, he sang “Door Number Three” which he cowrote with Steve Goodman. Except he switched things up a bit, importing some lines from “Like a Rolling Stone.” It was the part that goes
You say you never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He’s not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?
