joethefoodie
Every Italian grandma I knew just rolled their eyes while rolling over in their graves. Baby artichoke and saffron risotto. No sides, but some focaccia from Sullivan St. Bakery to go along with our aperitivo.
Daniel
Every Italian Grandma you know should know they are just making a bastardized version of chinese food anyway. Nice to see you cooking rice without a 300 dollar machine, it must have taken a lot of courage.
joethefoodie
MY rice cooker was nowhere near $300. The Falk copper saucier I use for risotto, however, is a different story.

Daniel
Really nice soup. A simple broth, Chinese wine, soy, star anise, sugar, three inches of sliced ginger, sugar, mushroom soy for the broth. Then added yu choy, bok choy, oyster mushrooms, spinach, marinated tofu from @fongon1933 some wheat noodles. It was sweet and aromatic and really rich. I like to add a little vinegsr@to mine. But a rare omission of spicy pepper. Then some boiled and then fried potatoes with cumin and Sichuan peppercorns from @luckydogorganic . Tossed in some pickled chile. joethefoodie
Thai green curry with pork and fresh corn and a shitload of holy Thai basil and cilantro. Getting better at this. Stir-fried good old round cabbage (though organic from the farmer's market). A bit of mild Sichuan chili pepper from Mala Project and that's that. Served with Jasmine rice from the $3,000,000 $3,000 $300 $160 rice cooker. Edited to fix the nomenclature of the basil. It's Thai basil, NOT holy basil nor Thai holy basil.

StephanieL
Turkey and potato hash. We're nearly done with the Thanksgiving leftovers, though much stuffing remains in the freezer.
