She often says she's the only one there, and it allows her to get a lot of shit done. Then again, working from home, on a dining table in a one-bedroom apartment, isn't exactly ideal - even if one has 3 meals a day prepared for them. Yes, everyone's situation is different. Someone I work with with the same role as me goes to the office every day because her husband is home and has kids running around. She needs to be in the office to be productive. I have a separate room with a TV, Peloton bike, desk and fast wifi. Going to the office provides zero benefit to me.
Sneakeater
It would keep you away from that Peloton bike.

bloviatrix
I go into the office two days a week. Most of our meetings are hybrid and the only times my entire team is together is when we hold off-site retreats. It's been really interesting trying to figure out how manage hybrid board meetings - some of the spaces we use are better equipped than others. And we finally starting holding in person events in the fall - although we cancelled our two holiday parties due the triple-demic. We have a massive gala coming up at the end of April and we're being very careful about keeping the numbers lower than the space can handle because we don't want it being a super-spreader event. This is where I'm grateful to be in a suburban house with a yard. I think N and I would have killed each other if we'd been stuck in our Queens place day after day after day. Anthony Bonner
On the topic of Fridays. Need to go to a meeting in the city today. Grabbed the 730 train from my regular station. First car in the non-resident lot. This town is prime midtown direct commuter belt.
bloviatrix
My husband has worked from home for 25+ years so I basically invaded his home office and when we had to make room for my set-up. The real stressor was during the first 3.5 months when we also had to deal with the child and Zoom school since he in kindergarten at the time and we really had to manage his schedule and log-ins.
