GerryOlds2TheReturnofGerry
Looking for recommendations for an upcoming trip. Has anyone been recently?
Evelyn
I really liked Wren and Wolf (Phoenix) and Beginner's Luck (Scottsdale)-but not really a dining experience. We ate at 2 other places during the Final Four last year. I'm blanking on the names. Both were very good. When I get home I'll check my notes.

Wren and Wolf was not on my radar and it looks great. If you've been, do you think Pizzeria/Pane Bianco is worth visiting?
Evelyn
Now that they take reservations, I would say it is worth a visit. Full disclosure, I went with a very good friend of the house. The place was packed. And from what I could tell by looking around the room, diners were enjoying themselves. I get home this afternoon. I'll add the othe spots then. ETA: I ate at Wren and Wolf 2x because I liked it "that" much. And I took 8 of my "Road Dogs" there for dinner. Most of them went back at some point during our stretch there.
Evelyn
The Gladly Public House (Scottsdale) El Chorro Lodge (Paradise Valley-kind of on the edge of Scottsdale and Phoenix) Arrogant Butcher (Phoenix) Bluehound Kitchen (Phoenix)
GerryOlds2TheReturnofGerry
This is all great info, thanks! And all places (with the exception of El Chorro Lodge) that hadn't come up in my searches. I haven't gotten to do much dining out in Phoenix because I'm with a larger group, and most of the people don't really care about restaurants. I will say that I had a great breakfast/brunch at Testal, a cafe serving Northern Mexican food (Chihuahua).
GerryOlds2TheReturnofGerry
This place is a must-visit, and I hope it's able to survive. The owner recently posted a plea for more asses in seats on Instagram. Southern-inspired tasting menu Thu-Sat. The rest of the week, it looks like they either run specials like fried chicken sandwiches or an a la carte bar menu. https://thelarderthedelta.com/
