bloviatrix
Locust Grove and Samascott are two local fruit farms that often bring to market uncommon varieties of apples. So I was intrigued to find the Court Pendu Plat at Locust Grove last week. The skin is russeted and it looks like someone pressed down on the top of the apple to flatten it a bit. On the tart side. Not super juicy. Decent crunch. Wikipedia tells me it's a French cultivar that dates back to the early 17th c.
