Aged 94. I saw him at the African American Day parade last year and of course I live in his old district.

I met him a number of times in the 90’s when I worked in the NYS office building on 125th St.  A very personable, friendly, crafty politician who navigated within the Harlem Democratic machine incredibly well.  I liked him - it was hard not to.

He was our congressman for a while so I used to see him shaking hands at the greenmarket.
