backyardchef Posted June 3, 2025 Posted June 3, 2025 My wife's mother passed away very suddenly and somewhat unexpectedly on May 23, 2025. One day she was driving around running errands, the next she fell down, hit her head and injured her kidney. Then they found out she had Cancer Fever and was untreatable. Within days she was gone. I was by her side with my wife. Just as I had been with my biological mom who lost her cancer battle nearly 20 years ago. For the last 2 decades (nearly as long as my biological mother) she had seamlessly stepped in and filled the role for me. It's a strange life to have lost two mothers. She was a single mom who put herself through nursing school and later got a phd and became a therapist, worked for years with veterans. Bought her home. Travelled the world. Walked the Great Wall. Slept under the stars in a field in South Africa. Raised three kids alone and survived the loss of a son. An incredible mother and woman. Rest in peace, Sue. 1 3 Quote
