Sneakeater Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 I have so much produce in my crisper that I almost can't close it. And that's not counting all the stuff that doesn't get refrigerated. It's hard to believe that in a few months there'll be like nothing. Quote
Sneakeater Posted September 3, 2023 Author Posted September 3, 2023 Hey I've got an idea! Let's have a big harvest festival and pretend it's the anniversary of when the world was created! Oh wait, somebody already thought of that. 1 Quote

Sneakeater Posted September 9, 2023 Author Posted September 9, 2023 I could swear I saw Carrie Brownstein at the Greenmarket this morning. I mean, I know it couldn't have been. But I could swear. Quote

Diancecht Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 we were able to get some matsutake mushrooms and those are for part of tomorrow night’s dinner: matsutake gohan. technically this purchase was at the mushroom vendor inside the sf ferry building. it’s something i look forward to every autumn, even more than tomatoes. today: black cod, chard, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, green beans, pluots, melon, plums, herbs and onions. 1 Quote
Sneakeater Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 I got some buttered matsutake flavored potato chips today! But that's as close as I can come. Quote
Diancecht Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 those sound really good right now Quote
Sneakeater Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 My supermarket has started stocking these Asian-market Lay's potato chips and some of them are like insane! Quote
Sneakeater Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 I read somewhere that the reason Asian-market potato chips are suddenly available in New York is that pot has been legalized. It makes a lot of sense. But I'm doing it a good job of craving them on life. 2 Quote
AaronS Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 which supermarket? I haven’t seen them down here. Quote
Sneakeater Posted September 18, 2023 Author Posted September 18, 2023 They’re in the Mexican Coke aisle, uncoincidentally. Quote
Diancecht Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 by the time i saw these haricot verts, our bags were full 🤨 today: black cod, arugula, shiitakes, oranges, potatoes, herbs (basil, rosemary, sage), cranberry beans, tomatoes, broccoli rabe, carrots, onions, garlic Quote
Diancecht Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 their fish is awesome the lineup changes every week Quote

Sneakeater Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 Hey I loves me some sand dabs. Quote
Sneakeater Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 I've only ever had them in Rancho Mirage. So in my mind I think of them as this fish that lives in the desert sand. I know that isn't the case. Quote
Evelyn Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I love Kalbee chips. They are addictive. Whenever I go to Japan, I binge on the mentaiko version. Thankfully, my local Japanese market doesn't carry that version. Plenty of others. But I can pass those up. Quote
