My cousin's pancreatic cancer came back after a 6 year remission and I don't know if we will get another miracle. His kids are 13, 18 and 20. At the same time his father got diagnosed with lymphoma but something that seems to be treatable.

Boy. How difficult that must be on your entire family, but in particular his wife and children. I join Suzanne in sending healing thoughts your way.

That's too rough. Hope you are keeping up with all your tests, Aaron.

Thanks for the good wishes. Saw both (father and son) cousins at a bar mitzvah this weekend. The dad looked awful. he is 80 but never looked it before. Chemo is really wiping him out. His son who is ~50 looks perfectly fine, although he is the one with the more dangerous prognosis. We all focused on the positive and enjoyed the time together we had.

A very lovely older couple in my building both passed away within 2 days of each other. The wife had been sick for a very long time, and I think the husband wore himself out taking care of her. In fact, he was already in the hospital when she died. They had been married 53 years.

Maybe it's a part of getting older. Recent death of a friend (only 40 years old). Another friend has terminal cancer, we try to reach out to her, but she is clearly sinking into depression. Another was recently diagnosed with MS. Then a friend of mine told me his best friend committed suicide, he was going through a mid-life crisis of sorts, but nobody expected he would kill himself.

My dad has still not fully recovered from his surgeries and illness, he's still having trouble with basic stuff.
