I thought it would be cool to have a thread -- akin to the Breakfast and Supper threads -- where we talk about the trips we've booked that we're looking forward to taking.   Cameron and I are going

Excellent!   False modesty will get you nowhere on this board. A Latin scholar spending a year doing research in Rome, eh? I look forward to your posts. By the way, when the woman said the pigs w

I hope you'll be sending us occasional reports about life in Rome.

Anyone ever used this tour agency...LeBoat.com? They rent fairly small, boats through various canal trips in Europe. The boats are easy to run and a captain is not necessary..self captain; although a cap and crew are available.

There are a lot of trips available..and I haven't a clue as to what might be "best." "Best" to me means pretty scenery, history, and of course good food. We'd probably bring 2 friends so I could bike along and have a break from driving ( which is not difficult but can get tedious for 1 guy.)

Weather is not really a factor, though I don't want to freeze to death..50f+ is fine.

Looks interesting and I still need to do some research but if anyone has done something like this, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

There has been talk that my chorus may be invited to perform the Bach Mass in B Minor in Mexico City in June with the National Symphony Orchestra. There's also a chance that it will be all (or most) expenses paid.

OMG--you here in June?

...and us in France, Italy, and Greece for five weeks...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

On the other hand, if you will be performing at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, you will completely blown away by its beauty.

Ah, drat. I was looking forward to seeing you again and having some wonderful food. The concert is supposed to be at the Palacio, but it's still not a given that my chorus will actually be going.

I have. We did the Canal de Garonne in France last summer. We didn't use LeBoat, but they were EVERYWHERE. The Garonne was awesome but lots of locks. Good cycling alongside, as well.

I'm leaving for Palm Springs tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a week of tennis (watching, not playing) and sun. We're trying two new restaurants this time so maybe we'll even have some good food too!

We are heading for San Diego this afternoon. Sunday it's up to the Joshua Tree area and then home on Tuesday. Point Loma seafoods for lunch tomorrow and Tuesday. Yum.

Unfortunately no sailing on this trip.
