Wilfrid
Fort Worth at the end of the month Please tell us. I went once and it was a curious place (to me) although I found fun activities. My only line dancing experience so far.
joiei
I will be down to judge some Steak Cookoff Association steak events. On Saturday we will be at Trinity Distlllery - http://www.steakcookoffs.com/event-3123045?CalendarViewType=1&SelectedDate=3/27/2019 and on Sunday we will be at Wild Acre Brewery - http://www.steakcookoffs.com/event-3123044?CalendarViewType=1&SelectedDate=3/27/2019 . I like Fort Worth, It isn't as hip style wise as it's neighbor Dallas. But the arts museums are pretty incredible. A big plus is I will get to spend some time with a niece. The steak judging is a move beyond KCBS bbq judging. The bbq judging I have been doing for 15 years now. The steak for only 4. I have entertained checking out World Food Championship but for now have decided to not go that way. Competition food judging has given me a chance to explore a very niche part of the culinary world and meet some interesting and fun people, both the cooks and the judges. We do consider ourselves family. If I have time in Fort Worth I will try to get to the Kendall museum. And I have left meals up to Janet. .
Wilfrid
Great. The competition judging sounds like fun. Doesn’t even try to be hip as I recall it. I have no restaurant memories as my cab driver got hopelessly lost in a thunderstorm and the restaurant was calling last orders before we arrived. He didn’t charge me for the trip. Tubbs
In theory going somewhere for the kids school break in two weeks. Due to some family health issues we didn't book anything until now...so searching for somewhere we can get to from NYC that has flights and big hotel rooms or good condo rental. Myrtle Beach? Longboat? Naples? Clearwater? Anyone got an empty condo to rent?
Wilfrid
Dallas, Austin, Orlando, Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami Beach. Nice two hour hop from Texas to Florida apparently.
StephanieL
San Diego in November for a conference. Probably paying my own way, so I won't be staying longer than absolutely necessary. Thanksgiving will not be hosted by my parents this year--my cousin in SE Pennsylvania is doing the hosting, so a few days in the Philly area. We probably won't get up to NYC. Blondie
I’ve been very obsessed with the Faroe Islands since this profile of Magnus Nilsson and the accompanying article: The Next Great Scandinavian Destination. Not so much for the food as for the landscapes. It’s been building up as a popular photography location ever since. Photo tours sell out quickly despite there being many more of them this year, but I managed to get a spot after searching for a few months.I’m looking forward to learning how to shoot actual landscape photography, instead of the hop-off-the-motorbike-for-a-snapshot type of photography I’ve been practicing.
