Places we're curious about

Yeah it should be with brown cheese obviously.

The concepts are getting very weird at this point. A korean inari pocket place (Yubu) around one corner and a mochi donut place (with corn dogs!) around the other. In Malasaña someone just opened a Pretzel specialist (making it even less interesting to the public by calling the Pretzel by its Romanian name - Covrig - goes well with Covid I guess)

Thought we needed a thread on places we walk by, places we hear about, places we want feedback on without starting a thread about it (yet)...   So last night we walked by Lure Fishbar. I love the l

Walked by that newish place Turquoise on E. 81. Nice fish menu - lots of whole fish, and meditarannean stuff. Not wacky expensive, believe it or not. If they do all the fish well, might be nice. N

I went a few months ago. I liked the wings; the potato mochi are good if you don't mind the typical mochi texture. They're served with a sweetish sauce and lots of butter. The place really is small

Walking by yesterday, it appears as if the Mission Chinese Space on E. Broadway is no longer for rent. Windows newly covered up to hide what might be going on inside.

This has been a few places since first moving down to this neighborhood (my favorite being Rosette (I think)). Wonder what's next?

I have a vague recollection of liking (I think it was called) Broadway East. And I swear I saw some mention somewhere of what was going into that space, but damned if I can find it.

Not exactly curious...

Two liquor license applications in our area on the 9/22 agenda.

French 37 LLC, 37 Canal Street

Tipsy Shanghai, 189 East Broadway (former Café Petisco)

But maybe if French 37 opens (it would be the place just to the west of Clandestino on Canal St., where there has NEVER been anything successful) they'd clean up the garbage that's been on that corner for, well, weeks.

Tipsy Shanghai ought to be a regular riot.

We're doomed.
