Anthony Bonner
How could it be great? It's a huge box in rock center. It's gonna be a great work lunch option tho. Have my first one on Tuesday
Sneakeater
Yeah but all the reviews but Sutton’s treat it as a real, serious place.
Wilfrid
Because of who it is, of course. Not hard to imagine the tripe etc coming off the menu after the review period.
Sneakeater
Don’t get me wrong: you can put together a good meal there. But you don’t have to GO.
Sneakeater
To be clear, I don’t think this place is cynical. I just think it is, as I said initially, compromised.
Sneakeater
Indeed, I wouldn’t be surprised if the offal and sausage dishes stay on the menu. Because that’s who these people are. But (a) they’re not what this restaurant is about and (b) they won’t change more frequently than seasonally (if that) cuz this isn’t that kind of restaurant. As for fab meat cuts, FORGET IT. Wilfrid
I do not want the fab cuts I just want the cheese-stuffed sausage please.

If it hits that it serves a need for me as it's a block from my office and isn't "The Grill", "Lobster Club" or "Smith & Wollensky" For Dinner? Probably no.
Sneakeater
For just lunch for yourself (which I know isn’t what you’re talking about), Lodii is terrific, right?

You don’t have to go in the same way that you don’t have to go see Paul Allen’s art collection at Christie’s or Six on Broadway but despite all efforts to live better than that, you may someday find yourself doing exactly those two things and at such time that happens to you - and I truly hope for your sake that you’ll live a Rock Center and midtown free life - you’ll be immensely grateful for Naro and Le Rock. Sneakeater
That’s a strange comment, @Jesikka, as I’m sure I’m in Midtown at night a lot more frequently than you are. A restaurant like Le Rock that closes at 9:30 is precisely USELESS for my Midtown activities. In any event @Wilfrid was talking about making a special trip there (as I had to do to be there during their open hours).
