Thought we needed a thread on places we walk by, places we hear about, places we want feedback on without starting a thread about it (yet)...   So last night we walked by Lure Fishbar. I love the l

I went a few months ago. I liked the wings; the potato mochi are good if you don't mind the typical mochi texture. They're served with a sweetish sauce and lots of butter. The place really is small

Walked by that newish place Turquoise on E. 81. Nice fish menu - lots of whole fish, and meditarannean stuff. Not wacky expensive, believe it or not. If they do all the fish well, might be nice. N

Indeed, I wouldn’t be surprised if the offal and sausage dishes stay on the menu.   Because that’s who these people are.

But (a) they’re not what this restaurant is about and (b) they won’t change more frequently than seasonally (if that) cuz this isn’t that kind of restaurant.

As for fab meat cuts, FORGET IT.

This is kind of my expectation.  If it hits that it serves a need for me as it's a block from my office and isn't "The Grill", "Lobster Club" or "Smith & Wollensky"

For Dinner? Probably no.

Don’t get me wrong:  you can put together a good meal there.

But you don’t have to GO.

You don’t have to go in the same way that you don’t have to go see Paul Allen’s art collection at Christie’s or Six on Broadway but despite all efforts to live better than that, you may someday find yourself doing exactly those two things and at such time that happens to you - and I truly hope for your sake that you’ll live a Rock Center and midtown free life - you’ll be immensely grateful for Naro and Le Rock.

That’s a strange comment, @Jesikka, as I’m sure I’m in Midtown at night a lot more frequently than you are.  A restaurant like Le Rock that closes at 9:30 is precisely USELESS for my Midtown activities.

In any event @Wilfrid was talking about making a special trip there (as I had to do to be there during their open hours).
