where do baby corns come from?   all joking aside, are they just regular corn that's picked before it's grown?

Whenever a colleague says "Can I ask a stupid question?", I respond, "Can you ask any other kind?". Just one of the reasons I am universally loved.

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.   Chemicals volatizing from the salt because of temperature? (Guessing.)

Do you mean as a food item? Or...something more nefarious?

I'll bet the stem is good once it is peeled.

I was thinking of slawing it, but it would make such a dramatic presentation cut in big pieces. I already thirded it, or I could've made it into a sort of vegetarian tomahawk chop. I wonder if there's some use for it other than regular broccoli stuff.

I don’t know if this is only for food related questions, but...

my eleven year old is seeing lizzo at msg. I haven’t seen something at a venue like that since the black album tour.

does anyone know if she’ll need some kind of noise protection? will the in ear foam ones be sufficient? (or even fit?)

YES - absolutely needs ear protection, and I wish I'd used it from the first show I ever saw!

I moved away from foam a while ago, as they never really fit nicely for me. There are a couple of types I currently use...

These ship with different tip sizes so you can make sure they fit correctly...and they'll probably look cool to a kid:

I also, on occasion, use etymotics.

Surprised you would need it at MSG.

But I can tell again my story about seeing Einsturzende Neubauten at Bowery Ballroom, the German industrial noise band famous for destroying the stage at the ICA in London with various pneumatic drills.

A wonderful band, fronted by Blixa Bargeld, for years Nick Cave’s partner in The Bad Seeds. They had melodic songs… and the construction stuff.

I noticed some people wearing ear protection before they came on. Then I gradually realized I was the only person not wearing ear protection.

The centerpiece they had brought on stage was a jet engine. An actual jet engine. I spent the set with my back pressed to the rear wall of the venue. It was a wonderful set, and I was deaf for two or three days.

Lizzo I would worry less about.

I don't know how many shows or who you've seen at the Garden, but whether it's a hockey game, a basketball game, or music, ear protection for a youngster seeing something at the garden is a good idea.

Our old ears are already damaged, so Lizzo might not do much more, but starting someone on the right path to wearing ear protection is not a bad idea.

I don’t remember gwar being especially loud.

I was shooting, so I was perched on a shelf near the ceiling, close to the stage. So it was not only loud, but super hot and cramped. Good times!
