Wow. I don't disbelieve you in any way but those rates are pretty unbelievable.

The pianist is a big part of the problem.

well if you go for lunch I believe there's no piano player. Trying to remember but I don't think there was one during my lunch last year.

We've had lunch there many times. There is always a piano player.

It is also a "player piano" that works when the pianist is on lunch break.

Aren't they always?

Frankly, my preference is for no music in a restaurant. But if there has to be music, I much prefer Del Posto's pleasant piano tunes to the horrible thump, thump music I'm often subjected to in so many restaurants.

I prefer the thump-thump to unironic tinkly Muzak. But that's what makes horse racing.

 

I think we all agree, though, that at a restaurant purporting to be at the level this one shoots for, ANY music is wrong wrong wrong.
