Wilfrid
I hesitated for a couple of days to post this, because who even cared about David Soul? But for anyone who does care, a soccer god, up there with Cruyff, maybe a step below Pele. But he lost in the 1966 World Cup final.
Anthony Bonner
It's kind of the interesting. I'm too young to have seen him play (as I was with Cruyff) but whereas Cruyff is seen as the Genesis of the dominant style of play today what Beckenbauer was famous for has really disappeared from the modern game so you just don't hear him namechecked all that much. Anthony Bonner
IÂ 1) Didn't realize Bayern was the second club in Munich until the 60's 2) had never heard the story of why he refused to go to 1860 before I read his obits, and how that led to the ascension of Bayern.
