StephanieL Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 (edited) Copenhagen! Heading there at the end of June for World Coffee Fest Europe. N will join me after the fest and then we'll do a couple of days of sightseeing. She's going to be visiting family in the UK either before or after, and possibly heading to SA too, but she'll be making those visits on her own. Edited January 18, 2024 by StephanieL 1 Quote
Wilfrid Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 Very cool. I have never been to a Scandinavian country. I am ashamed to say. Quote
StephanieL Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 I've already been to Sweden and Finland. Quote
StephanieL Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 Two possible wedding trips next year: one to Graz, Austria (grad student of N's) and one to Seattle (cousin's son). Quote
StephanieL Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) Austrian trip next June is a go! We received the invitation yesterday and have already RSVP'd. The happy couple's wedding website is very thorough, with information on travel details (including a reminder that US visitors will need a visa next year), the hotel where they've already reserved a block of rooms, links to the high-speed rail line that will get you from Vienna to Graz, and even what to wear (cocktail dress--an excuse to get a cute new outfit). We'll certainly stay a few extra days. We both want to see Vienna and N is dying to go to Salzburg for the day. Edited November 9, 2024 by StephanieL Quote
Wilfrid Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Wonderful. The only place I have visited there was Innsbruck on a high school trip. Would love to see Vienna. Quote
Behemoth_Munich Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Gorgeous country. And not as expensive as other European destinations. Enjoy! 1 Quote
bloviatrix Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 We absolutely loved Vienna. Considering your musical backgrounds, you have to incorporate homages to Mozart and Beethoven into the plans. 1 Quote

StephanieL Posted February 26, 2025 Author Posted February 26, 2025 Two business trips later in the year: a short one to Long Beach, CA at the end of July and a sadly longer one to Orlando in October. Quote

I go to the smaller meetings to cover talks, to be written up as news stories afterwards, and our society's big annual meeting to film and edit video interviews (and also cover a few talks). Quote
StephanieL Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 All set for World of Coffee San Diego. Looking forward to exploring the city and catching a Padres game. Quote
bloviatrix Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Just got back from skiing in Vermont with the kid. His winter break is in January. Now thinking of I'm going to take myself to LA to see the Islanders play both the Kings and the Ducks in March. As with much in my life, it will depend on the boy's hockey schedule. We're getting to tournament time. 1 Quote
