hollywood Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 I'm not familiar with this location of a Paramount. Appears to be a small club with a capacity of 400. In film the Wiltern Theatre has been marked as the New York Paramount (capacity of 1,200 to 4,000). Quote

Wilfrid Posted September 7, 2024 Author Posted September 7, 2024 The rhythm section in the live band isn’t on the album. The producer played the drums, Ana and Carlotta everything else (reading sleeve notes). Strengthens the impression that Paula and Maria are very much hired hands rather than full band members. The break-up with the former rhythm section must have been grim. Quote

Can’t wait to see it live. Quote
bloviatrix Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I heard the segment as well and may have shrieked (and startled my husband because I was behind the wheel of the car at the time) Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Why didn’t they tell me? This is what I was listening to. Quote

small h Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Yes, they seem to have made it official. Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Did not know Ana called Carlotta Ceecee. Quote
bloviatrix Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 @Wilfrid - my family now know of your obsession. 1 Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 I want the world to know. I never expected the joy of being the fan of an (active) band again. 1 Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 Unexpected stuff. Sitting in a bar at JFK, three guys next to me obviously have something to do with music but are speaking an unknown language. I keep hearing them say things like Siouxsie and the Banshees. 😳 So I ask them and they are Finnish three piece called Cliff Barnes (yes, Dallas). But they know their old punk stuff. One was a big Nick Lowe fan @MitchW Anyway, they happily took note of Viva Hinds so maybe I sold the girls a couple of albums. They were winningly thrilled that I used to write for the NME (prehistoric though that is). Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 “A Finnish Dinosaur Jr.” All over YouTube. 1 Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 For no reason Amazon sent me two copies of the new Hinds album. So my daughter now has one and is under extreme pressure to fall in love with them. She should trust me, I gave her Picasso and Matisse, Presley and Cash when she was a kid. Here’s another priceless gift. Quote
Wilfrid Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 It’s still more than a month until I see them. They are touring internationally right through March 2025. Quote
Wilfrid Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 Wonderful to see performances of the new songs from current gigs all over YouTube. Also, they went Hallowe’en. Quote
Wilfrid Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 Ana has broken her foot. 😮 Right now the tour is continuing. Will she be able to stand up on stage? Quote
hollywood Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) I saw the band tonight. Ana came on stage with aluminum crutches and wearing a plastic boot on her right foot. She immediately abandoned the crutches and jumped right in to rockin' at 9-10 for the 90 minute show. She did not crowd surf like Carlotta but she didn't hold back. Wilf, I doubted your touting this group. I apologize. Having seen them I'd say they are the most enthusiastic female rock band I have ever seen. To coin a phrase, they were brat. Wilfrid Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 Thank you thank you and what a relief that Ana is still moving. She can be excused crowd surfing for now. 1 Quote
