Saying the New York Times is just a newspaper, is like saying the Grand Canyon is:   1. A large hole in the ground 2. David Gest's pet name for the other Liza 3. Not as good as Le Canyon Grande

Rock 'n' Roll Casualty

that's homeland security trolling for terrorists.

"He viewed death as a kind of power nap, from which he’d awake refreshed in a tomb that was like an earthly home, but better, more fun. He designed his mausoleum as an underground Mar-a-Lago,..."

The editing is atrocious too. "Qi Shihuangdi"? And "Qin" is not pronounced "Chin" either (like halfway between "tsin" and "tseen" in Mandarin, and something weird and unpronounceable but definitely not "chin" in Old Chinese).

I mean, he wasn't far from a real-life evil overlord – famously he ordered a massive book burning, which destroyed many of the records from the highest point of Chinese philosophy (and he executed all the scholars too, for good measure)... but a flip Mar-a-Lago reference is unworthy of the Times's co-chief art critic.

The admins have received suggestions on this thread.

It should be noted that claiming irony or joking well after the fact makes it difficult to distinguish a comment's purpose. For those of us, like me, with limited capacity, please make your intent obvious.

You'd think a piece with the title of "What Happens Just Before Show Time at the Met Opera, in 12 Rooms You'll Never See" would actually be about, you know, opera. You'd be wrong.

My goodness, are these people giving serious answers to the question of how to improve the Met, or are they just trolling the Times? https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/14/arts/design/fixing-the-met-museum.html

Half the new wing should be a restaurant? Okay, Bill Telepan.

... that's not even the stupidest suggestion in that article, though it's close.
