I don't know where it might be streamed. But, if you want "camp' (and lots of laughs) go for the original Batman.

The Adam West/Burt Ward? I grew up with it and had no idea it wasn't serious. Shout out to Eartha Kitt, Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin, Burgess Meredith.

You're allowed to disagree with me.  You'll just join small_h in being wrong. 😇

Funny story (well, you'll be the judge of that): about 10 years ago, we rented an apartment in Provence for a month.  There was very limited English language TV progamming available, but Columbo re-runs were played regularly.  We watched as one of what we remembered as a show we originally liked turned into a repetitious one trick pony.  Just one more thing...

The Clash in 1977:

"American detectives are always on the TV/'Cos killers in America work seven days a week..."

Columbo, Cannon, Kojak, Rockford, probably still Ironside reruns and more I've forgotten.

Perhaps exaggerated by the very few TV channels in the UK it did seem like 24/7 just the facts ma'am. Not cool to be watching, so -- being cool -- I didn't.

You forgot Mannix.

Quincy. Banacek. Harry O. Matt Helm. McCloud. McMillan & Wife. Hart to Hart. Starsky & Hutch. (I found a list).

For some reason, I could manage to sit through Police Woman occasionally.

I think my first feminist act was to question why the show was called "McMillan & Wife" instead of McMillan and whatever the fuck his wife's name was. Was there a show called "Starsky & Male Partner"? No, no there was not.

Because he was the cop and she wasn't.  And, when she ("Sally") got uppety and held out for a better contract, they crashed her plane and went on with "McMillan" for a season or two.  So there.

She still had a name. Bear was a chimp, and he still got named in the show's title, even though he couldn't drive a truck. Probably. I never actually saw that show (or McMillan and Wife, because I'm not gonna watch a show with sexism baked right into the title).

I believe the lyric is "Yankee detectives are always on the TV..."

And "Watching the Detectives" was written by Elvis Costello, after listening to that first Clash album, on headphones, for like 12 hours straight. Originally recorded with members of Graham Parker's band, The Rumour.

MY wife is quite amazed that I am clueless when it comes to all those detective/cop/crime drama shows.

I was too busy watching the Honeymooners, Get Smart, Green Acres, et al.

Thank goodness she married Dick Ebersol and then Allie and finally got her (1st on the call sheet) bag

I was only allowed to watch PBS.

Hey, that's all I allow myself. It's made me the charmer that I am. Had you embraced your inner passion for public tv, you'd have been equally winsome. Instead, you went all edgy, with results we can all see.

Whew! That knock on the door just now really was the plumber wanting to fix the toilet?

Oh well, another night of using buckets of water.

(May I recommend that those of you watching, as the title of this thread suggests you are, think long and hard before you install electrical bidet-toilets -- yes, the multiply orientable jets of hot water are close to orgasm-inducing (going by my wife's oohs and aahs) -- but when it all fails it does so emphatically. The manual says "have a bucket of water on hand" and it wasn't kidding.)

How about Marcus Welby, MD? All the girls my age crushed hard on James Brolin. And, while I am at it-how about The Mod Squad? The guys were crushing on Peggy Lipton. More camp---The Munsters and The Addams Family.

Of course you know this little bit of Elvis Costello trivia.😊

Antonio Fargas was cool as Huggy Bear on Starsky & Hutch but he wasn't a title character.

True, but so what? Every show on television has cast members who are not mentioned in the show's title.

Susan Saint James (no I don't remember her character's name).

Correct. Haven't heard it in a while. Elvis had moved on from Clover by then I guess.
