helena
Looking for recommendations: cocktail bar set and probably some book on mixology.
Kim
I know its a distance from you, but if you want vintage, this New Hope PA Art Deco store usually has a great selection. http://www.cockamamies.com/aboutus.htm also, I saw some more basic ones at Crate And Barrel around the Holidays, that might be worth a quick check. helena
Kim, this is a great suggestion and incidentally we were meaning to have a motorcycle ride to New Hope this Sun anyway; as you might know New Hope is a bikers hangout.
Robert Schonfeld
If you should come across this one while shopping for vintage, please call me first.
Wilfrid1
As far as books go, I have never regretted buying the Paul Harrington cocktail bible. Other guides are more encyclopaedic, but this has all the important cocktails with clear recipes, tasting notes and interesting historical background - plus nice pictures; and in the back of the book, an appendix with lots more recipes. Unless I need to find something unusually obscure or prehistoric, I need no other book.
helena
we ended up getting this one from pottery barn - Julian Bar Tool Set (the pic doesn't do justice to bone handles)- it's very nice looking.
