All right, I'll confess I'm tempted by the greatest hits menu they'll offer this spring. Especially because I suspect the restaurant may be rather different when it re-opens.

In terms of the physical resdesign, the stated intention to make the room more symmetrical and centralised made me realise I rather like the fact that it's not. It somehow makes the space more approachable.

I've been a couple of times before and although perfectly ok I found it pretty ho hum; neither as exciting as a top tier restaurant (the Danny Meyer effect) nor as satisfying as a decent bistro. But a

I look forward to the next iteration, when he transforms it into the first NFT restaurant, with menus of Non-Food Tokens for 500 Ethereum. You sit at a table and look at pictures of food and wine bott

I'm immensely curious what percentage of the voters are American or Anglophones who regularly visit New York [i presume the proportion has grown over this century].

As to EMP itself, Will and Daniel give 'good interview' and are very well connected, it seems, with both the New York culinary and media worlds. And who else are nationalistic American critics going to root for, now that Keller is widely perceived as past his prime?

I think everyone is underestimating the scope of the accomplishment: they optimized their restaurant to try and top the list and then they actually topped the list.

That's good work.

It is. I'm happy to say I haven't eaten at any of the top 50 last year (well, technically I was at Narisawa for the Kinch meal) and there are maybe five of them I'm even curious about. So good work by SP as well.

that's not even wrong

You dispense compliments with an eye dropper. :)

In philosophy "not even wrong" is devastating, but I think it's mildly positive here?

I think it's positive too; I also think the issue here is: is wrong right?

Between this and the Bocuse d'Or, who says American fine dining is dead?

Good on them. Now let's see if Made Nice, their majorly delayed $15 plate lunch spot, can crack the top 50.

Just to make the obvious point, there's nothing local (i.e., "American") about being on a list for international travelers. SP restaurants are kind of like the U.N. building: in the city they're in, but not of it. This award just means there's an international outpost in the U.S.

I hope you're joking about Made Nice.

Its positive. And I mean in a cynical way. Like - if that's how you optimized revenues and profits who are we to question them?
