backyardchef Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 One of my last jobs for Union Square Hospitality was overseeing thousands of meals a day being prepared for Delta Airlines for flights out of JFK and LaGuardia. First Class and Coach. There were articles written about this modern marvel of quality ingredients and chef driven meals for in flight dining. Months of R&D and tastings. Hours spent on figuring out how to pack and deliver the meals so that they arrive on airport ready to be dispatched. I left professional cooking shortly after that. 2 Quote
Diancecht Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 i had forgotten i did take pictures of the united airlines food. live and memorex. warm nuts, chardonnay (?) cheese ravioli, salad, roll with butter. it was all right. i’m being charitable. i was amazed that there was a semblance of cutlery onboard. the best thing at this meal were the desserts: vanilla ice cream with hot fudge sauce and a slightly above average peach tart. the snack was couscous, tabbouleh, red pepper hummus 🤔 and olives. I have never had that caliber meal on United, any class, domestic or international, and I’m a “million miler”. 1 Quote
