[austin] Sunday Gathering - older restaurants

Recommended Posts

Foodie52 and I have been talking about going to dinner this Sunday. It also happens to be my birthday, which apparently requires some sort of fete. I would like to try out one of the "traditional" Austin eats which somehow have been skipped so far in my lifetime.

Anyone interested in trying out dinner at Green Pastures? (waaay older than me!) http://greenpastures.citysearch.com/page/o967/The_Food.html

or... Anyone interested in going to Sunday Brunch at Fonda San Miguel (also suitable in that the restaurant is older than me <grin>?

Speak your mind! :( This is a democracy. I'll make a decision in the next day or so.

I emailed my response - but it boiled down to I'm in, now that I know it will be evening, and I have a $10 off $35 coupon for Clay Pit, good Sundays-Thursdays for the next year. On thinking it over, I believe we should save that for August since the *G dinner there was my first meeting with the redoutable Jaymes....

I vote we postpone it until late August and then go to the Sunday brunch at Fonda San Miguel.

:(

OMG, if only it were possible to postpone birthdays! But I guess that's why Botox was invented. :(

Alright, sounds like Sunday evening is the winner. 6:30 cocktails, 7pm reservation. Location still under discussion.

I just went to Clay Pit, so although I like it, I'd like to try someplace new (to me) but old to Austin.

And I'm in for a late August sunday brunch at Fonda.

Pick a place, girl.

Moonshine. They're open, according to the website. And they have a cool building. :(

Why the heck are so many cool places closed on Sundays? I guess I never eat out on Sundays so I never noticed...

Shoot me an email or PM if you'd like to join us. It looks to be a small gathering with good folks!

Awesome restaurant selection. I really like Moonshine and think I did a write up about them a while ago on another site that starts with an eG......

Their shrimp corn dogs appetizer and mac & cheese side dish are highly addictive!!!

Will shoot you an email by Sat. if I can free up Sun night.
